I have been using these types of speaker mounts for years. I had purchased these mounts to use as lighting mounts for an event i had a few weeks ago. I was looking for a way to mount two moving heads on tripods that needed to be higher than my tops. These mounts worked great, no drilling and set up was a breeze. there is pre drilled hole in the middle of the mount that is perfect for a lighting bolt and nut set up. see photos. They are stable and tight.If you are looking for an alternative to a lighting totem and have a few extra tripods around, then get these mounts. If you want to mount TWO on one tripod look on amazon for the dual speaker tripod mounts you see in the pics. they are $15 and paired with these speaker mounts will have you up and running for $35 (using your own tripod) vis $160 for a totem... these will be easier to transport and set up to boot!
