One of the best, affordable, options for clear conference/meeting calls from home.I use this for work for all my Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet meetings/calls where I don't want/have to wear headphones. The audio is loud and extremely clear - both from the mic, and the speaker. You have the option of using USB and/or Bluetooth.I've had this for a few months now, and I'm super happy with it.I use it for both Zoom and phone calls, and both with my Macbook and phone, and it works seamlessly for both. A lot of Bluetooth devices suck, but this happily and quickly connects to my phone with no problems. The battery life is good, too. I think you could a day or more of active use out of it.I've never had anybody have trouble understanding me and calls and voices sound good. You can use it as a generic speaker and it works well for things like podcasts. Music is fine although not stellar, but it's not exactly designed for that. This is a very good speaker for conference calls, but if placed on a hard surface, like a wooden or glass table, the other party/ies can hear annoying feedback. This is easily fixed by moving the speaker to a soft piece of furniture or by placing a folded up towel, etc., underneath it.I started searching for a wireless bluetooth speakers to use for conference calls/video calls which occupy. most of my day during our current work-from-home status. While my office uses Skype for Business and is migrating to Microsoft Teams, we also have videoconferences on GoToMeeting, Webex, Zoom and others. Based on those needs and not wanting to spend a tremendous amount of money, I decided to buy the Jabra Speak 510 especially after a colleague told me he had been using it with good results.Delivery was swift and I excitedly connected the speaker via Bluetooth to Dell 7290. Unfortunately, my colleagues complained that my voice was hard to hear and somewhat garbled. Thus began my interactions with the Jabra Support team. The details follow below but the bottom line is that I was extremely pleased with both the Jabra telephone support and email responsiveness. After following the steps outlined below, I have now used the device without any issues for the past week and I am very satisfied with the product.First steps suggested by Jabra Support:1. Make sure install the latest firmware through Jabra Direct software before using the device.2. Jabra does NOT recommend using Bluetooth to connect to a computer; they strongly recommended to connect the Jabra device via USB only.3. While speaking to Jabra Support via phone, we also reviewed my audio settings on the Dell laptop including sensitivity of the microphone.**These first three steps suggested by Jabra Support did improve the sound of my voice and colleagues no longer complained. However, I started hearing some periodic crackling and interruption of audio for about 2 seconds very intermittently. It sounded like interference so I moved all of my other devices and cell phone away from the Jabra but the audio problems persisted. So, I called Jabra Support again after an exchange of emails to make sure I was not using a USB hub because they recommend against that, too. During the phone call, we reviewed several options including trying a different USB port and trying a different computer. And, if that didn't work, Jabra Support agreed that they would replace the device.Next steps:4. I tried a different USB port on the Dell. Same problem.5. My personal computer is a MacBook Pro 2017 (15") which only has USB-C ports. So, contrary to Jabra's advice, I used the Jabra with my MacBook (Zoom) using a USB hub not expecting it to work. However, the device worked flawlessly - good sound on my end; no issues with my voice on the other end.6. Therefore, I decided to try the USB-C hub with the Dell (which also has a USB-C connection). And...the microphone and speaker are working very well; I've had no complaints from my colleagues and there have been no audio issues.7. I've also used the USB option with my iPhone and that works well - no issues. To be clear, you can't stand 5 feet away from the device and expect people to hear you. However, if it's on your desk and you are sitting, it works fine.Using this set up for the past 3-4 days, I've had multiple calls and videoconferences using Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeetings, Zoom and Webex. The integration with the mute button only seems to work for Skype and Microsoft Teams (i.e., setting mute on the Jabra device turns the appropriate icon on the screen to "mute"). However, it's pretty easy to know when you're on mute with the Jabra device (red LEDs around the speaker) so even if the icon on the screen isn't showing mute, when the Jabra is muted, you should be "safe."I haven't tested the battery life fully but it seems to be good. Volume is definitely sufficient. It's not intended to be used for music but for a quick interlude between meetings, it's adequate. I have used the smart button the device with Siri on my iPhone 11 Pro and it works well. The device can be connected to your computer via USB and via your phone via Bluetooth at the same time and it seems the range for the Bluetooth connection is surprisingly good.Bottom line - I was very close to returning the Jabra 510. However, the excellent support from Jabra and a little experimentation paid off. The Jabra 510 is now a very welcome and comfortable option to the various Bluetooth headsets and other wired headsets I have tried. This is the second speaker phone I've bought. The last one had repeated problems with connectivity and sound quality. This one Just Plain Works!!! You plug it in and you're done. It connects via USB and/or bluetooth without any setup or fooling around. Yes, the sound quality of the speaker is noticeably better than the competition. Yes, its well made and durable. But, the best part is that it is truly plug and play. Ok ok, its expensive, but if you buy it once and it lasts for ten or twenty years will you care?Wonderful addition to my home office. Sound - both speaker and mic - raises the bar completely and increases the perception of professionalism greatly!I primarily use plugged in via USB, but great to have Bluetooth when on the road, etc. When this works, it's great. But, I have had some issues with it, although I don't know if it's the product itself or my computer/phone.What's great is that it pairs with your iPhone better than my airpods do. But, it keeps defaulting to a louder volume. And I have a very obnoxious message ringtone. It doesn't matter that I lower the volume because the next time I receive a text, it's back to the loud volume. It's also great for zoom meetings when it connects properly. There are times when I am in a room with another person and we are both in the same zoom meeting, but using our own separate computers. This allows us to use just the one audio, everyone can hear us well, and there's no echo or other annoying feedback. And, it's obviously better than just having one person on mute the whole time and trying to speak through the other person's audio. However, I do have issues with this connecting directly through the usb cable. But, I do think that is a Microsoft issue and an issue related to using a remote login for my work. It's definitely expensive. But, I find this so much easier to use than my airpods and everyone I've spoken with comment that my voice comes out clear on the other end with no echo.My co-workers kept telling to get this. I tried airpods, other bluetooth headsets. I finally broke down and got this and now I am wondering how I made theo hundreds of hours of zoom/teams calls for the last 3 years. I hear people on the call well and they hear me and I don't have to scream anymore to be heard.Das Jabra hat ein Mikrofon eingebaut. Vorne. Am Rand. Dort nimmt es auf. Nicht links nicht rechts nicht dahinter. Das "Leistungsstarkes omnidirektionales Mikrofon mit 360-Grad-Abdeckung" zu nennen ist beachtlich. Siehe Bild. Es ist nach Beschwerden aus dem Konferenzraum geflogen und durch ein teureres eMeet mit 4 Mikrofonen ersetzt worden. Das hört auch links und rechts und dahinter.Excellent little conference speaker. I work from home and have a lot of meetings on Skype (formally Lync) and I got fed up with having to put on a headset. The sound quality is excellent, it is clear and loud, I have asked how I sound on the other end and people didn't know I was using a speaker, the sound was very clear. You can connect your laptop/pc via USB and also simultaneously connect your mobile with Bluetooth. As an audio speaker I tested it out with Spotify, there isn't a lot of bass with it being so small, but the sound isn't tinny, however its a conference speaker, if you wanted an audio listening speaker you probably would have bought something else that's cheaper and sounds better for music. The speaker is plug and play as far as the laptop/pc goes, mine just worked, I doubled checked the settings in Skype and it automatically picked up the speaker, for Bluetooth like any other device it has to be paired, I have paired and used it with a Samsung Note 5, S5, OnePlus2 without issues. On the top of the speaker there are touch controls for volume, mute, start/end call, LEDS on the top indicate the volume level, a white LED comes on when its switched on, when paired with Bluetooth and additional blue light comes on. The speaker has spoken instructions and tells you when it turns it has connected to something. It is has rechargeable battery and is very portable and is supplied with a neoprene type zip case, the USB cable wraps around the speaker and latches so there arnt any annoying trailing cables. The Jabra works, but it seems that there is a general issue with these units, we bought hundreds of them and almost every unit has some “interference” from time to time, not often, but when it happens you hear nothing else than a cracking noise. This noise is there for about 5-7 seconds and disappears - in theory it could be also caused by the notebook, but many of my colleagues have the same problem and we are not using all the same type of Laptop. I reduced the two stars, because this is very annoying - btw it only happens when it’s connected via USB - if it’s connected to a phone via Bluetooth it works perfectly. Sound quality is exceptional and the Mic works wellAbsolutely love this Bluetooth mic/speaker. We'd been having Skype and MeetMe calls with clients for a while, but there were regular issues with them hearing us or us hearing them. We were just using the speakers on our mobile phones. So I bought this hoping it would improve the call. It is dramatically better. I've been told on a number of occasions that it sounds like I'm using a headset or that I'm not on a loudspeaker. The range is good too. I can leave my mobile on my desk and have the speaker on the other side of the office which is about 20 metres. I can also plug it into my PC and use Skype on there with the Jabra. It's easy to turn the volume up and down, the Bluetooth on and off, and there is also a battery level indicator so you know how much power is left.Another thing I found is that I can charge the Jabra from my portable battery so I can take this anywhere. This is definitely a purchase that I have no regrets on.I've bought several of these now for the team. Absolutely essential for endless web meetings - excellent sound quality for both the speaker and microphone, and complete hands-free operation is much less tiring than using a heaadset or earbud. Makes web calls seem much more natural. It's plugged into the laptop by USB, with the Bluetooth used for mobile phone calls. Never had need to use it on battery power.Only negatives are that when Bluetooth is switched on, a notification on the phone causes the web meeting audio on the laptop to drop out, and it has a habit of grabbing the phone audio even when you're at the other end of the house. So I just hit the Bluetooth button only when I need it. And I've never managed to make the Google Assistant button work (needs some horrible additional software installing). But that's no loss at all.
